First off.. How are you doing?

It’s been a while, Gi Joe! I’m so happy that you came back to the music industry! And thank you for inviting me to your project.

What is your current DJ setup?

Pioneer DJ controller DDJ-1000SRT
Phase DJ, Technics 1200 MK6, Pioneer DJ DJM-S9

What is the career highlight that stands out the most to you?

My career highlight has been the release of the mix cd “No beats, No Life” with beats by Dr. Dre, Universal Music Record Japan and Tower Records. Also, I just released Notorious B.I.G. Tribute Mix with CONART from LA and Japanese clothing brand EMISSION this month.

How do you balance your relationship with giving the listeners what they want and putting them on to music you want to expose them to?

I always care about customers and who they want to listen to. Because we can’t have a good party without customers.
I can’t DJ without them. But also at times, I’m always thinking that how can I surprise them with a creative mix and unexpected song selections.
Even popular songs like Drake can be mixed in different ways like the original style.

DJs are the original record breakers, so what artist do you currently support?

I like a lot of R&B artists these days. For example Giveon, H.E.R., and afrobeat artists too.

Pass the torch. What DJ should MyWayDJ interview next and why?

DJs I recommend are DJ Trayze, DJ Dynamix, DJ Scratchbastid.

Last words?

Trust yourself and don’t compare to others. Find your original style and taste.
Of course practice hard and play hard.
