Riz spins the first half as always and then I jump on at 92:39. Mic breaks come at 25:46 and 145:03 along with Lynn Gonzalez. At 29:40 we have guests Willie Stubz & Natruel who quickly get into a freestyle session. The highlight though comes at 56:42 when Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest get on the mic to promote their new LP “The Love Movement”. Scratch that. The highlight actually comes at 60:00 when Q-Tip decides to do a 15+ minute off-the-top freestyle while Riz plays a medley of instrumentals. So dope how he freestyles the history of the group. Great listen although not without some minor turntable technical difficulties here and there. Man, Riz and I were so picky (and still are) when it comes to how precise we want the mix to sound. It always drove us crazy when there were technical issues.

About DJ Eclipse
DJ Eclipse, renowned indie Hip Hop tastemaker, first gained national notoriety while djing for 3rd Bass front man MC Serch in the early 90’s. His reputation grew in the mid 90’s by filling in for Stretch Armstrong on his weekly 89.9 radio show on WKCR and then later for Mayhem on 89.1 WNYU. He joined Wild Pitch Records in ’94 and became the National Director of Retail Promotion until their closing in ’95. Then, DJ Jab, the owner of a small basement record store called Fat Beats, brought Eclipse in to help out on weekends. It wasn’t long before Fat Beats became a worldwide company with Eclipse overseeing all of their retail operations. Around this time, NY also saw the birth of Eclipse’s seminal crew Non Phixion, which played a pivotal role in the indie renaissance of the mid 90’s. During these years, Eclipse established himself as the “go to” DJ for all the local Hip Hop events at Wetlands, S.O.B.’s, Vinyl and most notably, Tramps. In ’97, after spinning at many of the “Break Beats” parties at The Point in the Bronx, Crazy Legs put Eclipse down with the legendary Rock Steady Crew as one of the RSC DJs. By 1998, Eclipse started The Halftime Radio Show with DJ Riz and Lynn Gonzalez. Later on he could still be heard on on 89.1 WNYU with DJ Skizz on Wednesday nights from 10:30 PM – 1:00 AM (EST). As a producer, some of Eclipse’s notable credits include remixes for O.C. (“Time’s Up” & “Born 2 Live”), Nas, N-Tyce, the Modern Jazz Quartet (Rebop-The Savoy Remixes), a couple party joints for AV8 & Nervous Records and the Fractured Breaks battle records series just to name a few. In addition to running the Fat Beats NY store, operating Uncle Howie Records with partner ILL BILL and touring with La Coka Nostra, Eclipse joined DJ Premier on his “Live From HeadQCourterz” radio show as a “relief” DJ when Primo is on tour. The show aired on Sirius Satellite Radio on channel 40 Friday nights from midnight to 2 AM (EST).
Now he flexes on Rap Is Outta Control on (SiriusXM). Rap Is Outta Control is a weekly mix show hosted by DJ Eclipse and DJ Riz. The Sirius XM show airs every Sunday evening from 10pm-12am EST on Shade 45.

&Ito read tell my Son “U CAN!!!! Not cant pardon, I get geeked!!!! Especially when I really made it priority #1 when he was very young and showed not only interest ,but w the FisherPrice and other portables/& DIGGING protocol a knack for all “the signs” & now at 17&change I not only get to feel the byproduct even when no volumes on, I know that ever so familiar look of his Fully Understanding the importance of Striving for Perfection. Even if the result is it perfect every time is long is the effort for it to be is visible especially to within then eventually, it manifests in full . Blessings
Lol to read “I was asked whom other than Havoc, did production on BigNoyd’s debut episodes of a hustler”when I told them Charlemagne people bugged .’nd, LOL it’s amazing how handy LinerNotes come in ironically people believe them sometimes more than they do the artist themselves. Maditude , smash or trash I’m thinking like mad gratitude !!!! Thank you so much again this particular show was so memorable because,to me the bevy of instrumentals that DJRiz was throwing Tip seemed to be fueling his narrative to be as Brilliant as he is best eg exactly @ that 60:00 mark!!!! Epic. 7GEMS/UZN
Aeyoooo,E what’s A great show with out TD.z.Love The fact you kept your description in real time with “scratch that” &Whatta beautiful double meeting whether intentional or not. Definitely on some AAlike ish you know what the best feeling in the world is even better than not having to deal with though TDs it all is the moment you correct a technical difficulty for good then the lol next one pops up that then becomes ur new challenge if people only realized that these are the details and it’s all of the details that make it so special just like if we didn’t Wackness, we wouldn’t realize and appreciate just how special this Culture in all its elements are Naturally(I represent my ….. Like they represent me, I feel that is probably my pick for the greatest feel good song in the history of Life, along w Every NE Joint i’ve been meaning to ask you this for a long time since you were the only DJ that really did a proper natural elements entire show is is there one other entity in our Musica that has actual non-tradional “cut&paste” vocal snippet hooks, Charlemagne maybe the most criminally slept on Producer ever I was talking with somebody about the production on big noyds debut, and someone had asked me who other than how big did production or that I’ll EP is they called it then I said other than stretch Armstrong’s remix for usual suspects Charlemagne is the only person that came the mind, which if you think about the infamous sound of said artist compared to natural element sound, does our music gave any more diverse with out compromise ever!!!! I had to/&Lol Will continue to thank you and praise the ungodly beauty of the tribute show you did in the fact I can turn the my son and say look what I told you from the time you were a kid you can’t have the best music in The world with out misogynistic unrealistic gratuitous violence of course I enjoy all those things we all do urban did in music eight adding buying that says they didn’t I have a hard time believing but that’s not the point the point is my gratitude for everything u do/& continue to set the bar of excellence no matter what medium sing your praises today I just comment on what I’m feeling and give thanks gratitude and respect peace & infinite blessings E, and all family worldwide
